Adding hypotheses manually

Learn how add hypotheses to your tree manually

If you already have an idea where in the tree the unknown parent might be, you can mark them as a hypothesis manually.

• Hover over any person in the tree
• In the menu that appears below, click 'Use as hypothesis'.

If you prefer, you can also create placeholder people (e.g. BROTHER, UNCLE) as well or instead.

After you click 'use as hypothesis,' the trail down to the DNA tester will appear in the tree as shown in previous tutorials.
