Frequently Asked Questions about the monthly tips email

I've started a new mailing list. Some answers to common questions are below; click on a question to see the answer.

If you'd like to receive the email, click the button below and fill in the form. You will then receive a confirmation email. Once you click the link in this email, your signup will be confirmed and you will received a discount of $5 off your next payment.




A few reasons:

  • To keep in touch with users, many of whom may not be members of the Facebook group
  • To share explanatory tips and methods to help users get the most out of the site

I aim to send one every month. The emails will include:

  • An overview of any recently released functionality
  • Examples showing the site in action
  • Hints for less experienced users (e.g. recapping on different features)
  • Links to relevant external articles
  • News from elsewhere in the genetic genealogy community

To encourage users to sign up, I'm offering a one-time $5 discount on the next payment for anyone who joins the mailing list:

  • If you are not yet a registered member, the discount will still be applied so long as you register using the same email address.
  • If you are an existing subscriber, the discount will be applied to your next payment
  • This will be automatic *unless* you are an auto-renewing PayPal subscriber, in which case I will make a manual refund of $5 after your next payment.
  • Just as now, you can decide at the time of purchase whether or not you want your subscription to autorenew.

There is a maximum of one discount per account. You must click on the confirmation email after filling out the mailing form in order to join the list and receive your discount.

Your email address will be processed by Sendinblue, the company DNA Painter uses to send the mailings, according to their terms of use. It will not be used for any other purpose.

If you are not already signed up, you will see a dark green strip towards the top of the homepage. Click this and fill in the form. You will then receive a confirmation email. Once you click this, your signup and discount will be applied.

To remove yourself from the list and stop receiving any mailings, simply click on the unsubscribe link in any existing monthly email. Unsubscribing from the mailing list will not affect your discount.
